TEAD3 is a member of the transcriptional enhancer factor (TEF) family of transcription factors. It contains a conserved DNA-binding domain known as the TEA/ATTS domain and plays a key role in the Hippo signaling pathway. It regulates gene expression by binding to specific DNA sequences and interacts with coactivators such as YAP1 and WWTR1/TAZ, influencing cell proliferation, migration, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). TEAD3 is predominantly expressed in the placenta and also found in nervous system and muscle tissues. Its altered activity is implicated in various cancers, making it a potential target for pharmacological intervention.
