Overview
The TEC family kinase group is the second largest family of non-receptor tyrosine kinases, playing crucial roles in intracellular signaling, especially within hematopoietic and immune cells. These kinases are signal transducers activated by a variety of cell surface receptors, including antigen receptors, integrins, growth factors, cytokines, and G protein-coupled receptors. BTK inhibitors represent an important class of drugs targeting this family for autoimmune diseases and certain cancers. Many small-molecule inhibitors show cross-reactivity among TEC-family members due to structural similarities within their active sites.
