Target intelligence / Profile preview
Tektin 4 pseudogene 2 (TEKT4P2) is a transcribed unprocessed pseudogene located on chromosome 21 (chr21:9068361-9082067, according to GDC Data Portal). Unlike the protein-coding Tektin 4 gene (TEKT4), which encodes a microtubule inner protein important for cilia and flagellar function, TEKT4P2 does not encode an active protein and is not known to have a direct functional or pathological role in humans. The main known alternate name is MAFIPL, and its main classification is as a pseudogene. There is currently no evidence that TEKT4P2 is a therapeutic target, biomarker, or factor in disease, nor are there any known drugs targeting it.
