Overview
The Tenascin-C A1 domain is an alternatively spliced fibronectin type III repeat within the Tenascin-C protein. It plays a role in immunomodulation by suppressing T cell activation (when paired with A2) and is implicated in tumor progression. It is expressed in various tumor cell types but is largely absent from normal adult tissues, making it a potential therapeutic target.
