TERF1 pseudogene 7 (abbreviated as TERF1P7) is a non-functional genomic sequence in humans related to the TERF1 gene, which encodes the telomeric repeat-binding factor 1 protein. Unlike TERF1, TERF1P7 does not produce a protein product nor does it participate in telomere maintenance or cellular pathways. As such, it is not considered a molecular target for therapeutic intervention, and there are no known implications for disease, drug action, or biomarker use associated with TERF1P7. Most functional, structural, and clinical interest relates to the active gene TERF1, not its pseudogenes[3][4][8].
