Testis expressed 14B, pseudogene (TEX14BP) is a pseudogene locus annotated in genomic databases without evidence for protein expression or direct biological activity in humans. The name "LNCGM1082" is associated with a long noncoding RNA in mice, which has been found to modulate inflammasome (NLRC4) activity in innate immune cells and gut epithelium, influencing interleukin-1β maturation, pyroptosis, and host response to bacterial infection. However, there is no direct confirmation that human TEX14BP and murine/human LNCGM1082 are the same molecular entity, and the function has not been ascribed to a canonical human target. The entry is likely erroneous if interpreted as a therapeutic target.
