Testis-expressed protein 47 (TEX47) is a protein encoded by the TEX47 gene, which is predominantly and specifically expressed in human testicular tissue[3][9][11]. Its precise molecular function is unidentified, though it has been suggested to participate in testis-specific processes, possibly as a structural or regulatory protein involved in spermatogenesis[8][9]. It is annotated as a "dynein-associated BLUF protein," implying a potential interaction with cellular transport and light sensing domains, but neither these functions nor its involvement in molecular pathways or diseases have been experimentally elucidated[1][7][11]. The gene is sometimes referenced as C7orf62 in older literature. Currently, there are no drugs or known mechanisms targeting TEX47, and it is not considered a therapeutic target nor a biomarker for disease or patient stratification[3][7][11].
