Target intelligence / Profile preview
Testis-expressed protein 48 (TEX48) is a protein encoded by the TEX48 gene located on chromosome 9 in humans. It is primarily categorized as a testis-enriched protein with protein-binding molecular function, inferred from bioinformatic data, but is otherwise poorly functionally characterized. There is currently no experimental evidence supporting a specific molecular function, biological process, or disease association mechanism beyond a listed association with spermatogenic failure. There is no evidence that the protein functions as or in a therapeutic target class (such as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or transcription factor), nor are there known drugs, biomarkers, or clinical applications related to TEX48 at this time.
