Overview

Testis-specific protein Y-linked 8 (TSPY8) is a predicted protein encoded by the TSPY8 gene, a member of the TSPY family located on the human Y chromosome[3][7][5]. TSPY8 shares sequence similarity with other TSPY proteins, such as TSPY1, which are associated with spermatogenesis. Functional studies and protein-level evidence for TSPY8 are lacking; its roles are currently inferred based on homology to TSPY family members, which are known for chromatin binding and possible involvement in sperm differentiation and proliferation[3][5]. Unlike TSPY1, TSPY8 has not been associated with human diseases or clinical biomarkers. No drugs, small molecules, or therapeutic interventions target TSPY8. There are no known safety concerns or therapeutic challenges regarding this gene, as it is not a target of medical or pharmacological interest at present.
