Overview

Testis-specific transcript, Y-linked 4 (TTTY4) is a long non-coding RNA gene located on the Y chromosome, expressed specifically in testis tissue[1][3][6][7][9]. It produces a non-protein coding transcript, classified as a long intergenic non-coding RNA (lincRNA)[2][5][8]. LincRNAs, including TTTY4, generally act as regulators of gene expression, chromatin structure, and epigenetic status but do not encode proteins. While some lincRNAs are functionally characterized in biological processes and certain diseases, TTTY4 itself has no evidence of being a direct therapeutic target, biomarker, or having pharmacological interactions reported to date. Its physiological or disease-specific functions remain uncharacterized in the current literature[1][5][8][9].
