Overview

Testis-specific transcript, Y-linked 6B (TTTY6B) is a long intergenic non-coding RNA (lincRNA) located on the human Y chromosome. It does not encode a protein and is classified as a non-coding RNA, specifically a lincRNA, which is a subclass of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) longer than 200 nucleotides and located outside known protein-coding loci[1][3][7]. Although lincRNAs as a class are increasingly recognized to regulate gene transcription, chromatin state, and possibly act as molecular scaffolds, the biological function of TTTY6B itself remains largely uncharacterized. It is sometimes referred to by its alternative names, including LINC00128 and NCRNA00128. There is currently no evidence that TTTY6B is a drug target, nor is it directly implicated as a biomarker or as having a disease association. Its expression appears to be restricted to testis, fitting with its annotation as "testis-specific"[1][3][7].
