Overview

Testis-specific transcript Y-linked 17B (TTTY17B) is a human long non-coding RNA gene located on the Y chromosome (Yq11), transcribed as an RNA molecule but not translated into protein. It is also called NCRNA00141 and is annotated as a non-protein coding transcript, thought to be expressed predominantly in the testis and possibly in other tissues such as kidney. As a lncRNA, general potential functions might include regulatory roles in gene expression, chromatin modification, or epigenetic regulation, but specific functional, disease-associated, or drug-interacting attributes are currently uncharacterized for TTTY17B. TTTY17B is not a typical drug target (such as a receptor, enzyme, or transporter), but rather a non-coding RNA locus. There is no evidence that it is targeted therapeutically or involved in well-characterized disease pathways, nor are there known drugs or clinical biomarkers associated with it. It is mainly used as a molecular identifier in genomics and transcriptomic studies rather than as a core biological or therapeutic target.
