Tet methylcytosine dioxygenase 1 pseudogene 1 (TET1P1) is a pseudogene of TET1, a member of the ten-eleven translocation (TET) family of enzymes that oxidize 5-methylcytosine and are central to DNA demethylation and epigenetic regulation. While the TET1 gene encodes a protein-coding enzyme involved in important biological processes such as DNA demethylation and gene expression regulation, TET1P1 itself is non-functional in protein coding and has not been shown to serve as a receptor, transporter, or direct therapeutic target.
