Tetratricopeptide repeat domain 23 (TTC23) is a protein-coding gene encoding a TPR domain-containing protein that is predicted to localize in the cilium and participate positively in the ciliary Hedgehog signaling pathway, which is critical for embryonic development and tissue patterning[1][5][15][16]. TPR domains are structural motifs mediating protein–protein interactions and facilitating the assembly of multiprotein complexes[6][14]. Although TTC23 has been associated with certain developmental disorders and hypothesized to have proto-oncogenic potential, its precise physiological and pathological roles remain largely uncharacterized and there are currently no known drugs or specific therapeutic interactions targeting TTC23[5][15][1][13].
