Tetratricopeptide repeat domain 23 like (TTC23L) is a protein-coding gene identified in humans and other vertebrates. It encodes a protein containing tetratricopeptide repeat (TPR) motifs, which are commonly involved in protein-protein interactions and the assembly of multiprotein complexes. TTC23L is predicted to participate in the response to endoplasmic reticulum stress and is localized in the cytoplasm, particularly associated with the microtubule cytoskeleton and the midbody, a structure important during cell division. There are no well-defined functional studies or confirmed biological roles for TTC23L, and it is currently not established as a disease gene, drug target, or diagnostic/prognostic biomarker. Its closest paralog is TTC23, which is implicated in ciliary Hedgehog signaling, but the specific role of TTC23L remains largely uncharacterized.
