Tetratricopeptide repeat domain 4 pseudogene 1 (TTC4P1) is a human pseudogene located in the genome, and not a protein-coding gene. As a pseudogene, TTC4P1 does not encode a functional protein and is generally considered non-functional in terms of classic gene expression and protein synthesis. The parent or reference gene, TTC4 (Tetratricopeptide repeat domain 4), is a protein-coding gene containing tetratricopeptide repeats (TPRs), but TTC4P1 is only a genomic remnant or non-functional copy. Pseudogenes such as TTC4P1 may sometimes participate in regulatory RNA functions, such as serving as competing endogenous RNAs or miRNA decoys, but for TTC4P1 itself, no function or disease association is currently documented in standard gene and protein databases[1][4].
