Overview

Tetratricopeptide repeat protein 29 (TTC29) is an axonemal protein containing tetratricopeptide repeats, which are protein-protein interaction motifs known for mediating the assembly of multiprotein complexes[1]. TTC29 is involved in the structure, organization, and movement of cilia, specifically in the regulation of flagellum assembly and motility in sperm. Its biological role is critical for normal sperm function, and mutations or defects in TTC29 have been associated with male infertility, primarily spermatogenic failure and sperm motility disorders[2][3][5][6]. TTC29 is not currently established as a drug target and has no documented pharmacological interactors or associated safety concerns.
