Target intelligence / Profile preview
TEX28 pseudogene 1 (TEX28P1) is a noncoding copy of the functional TEX28 gene, located on the X chromosome, and is annotated as a pseudogene[5]. Pseudogenes are genomic sequences derived from functional genes but typically lack protein-coding ability due to accumulated mutations. While some pseudogenes have been shown to possess regulatory functions, there is no evidence in scientific databases or reviews for TEX28P1 having a role in drug targeting, biomarker development, or disease association. TEX28P1 carries several alternative names due to its relation to the testis-expressed TEX28 gene, but it should not be confused with active gene products or protein targets[5][6].
