TGFB induced factor homeobox 2 like X-linked (TGIF2LX)

TGFB induced factor homeobox 2 like X-linked (TGIF2LX) is a protein-coding gene that encodes a member of the TALE/TGIF homeobox family of transcription factors[1][5]. Its expression is largely testis-specific, suggesting a regulatory role in male germ cell development, particularly spermatogenesis[1][3][5]. TGIF2LX is located on the X chromosome and is a paralog of the Y-linked TGIF2LY gene, thought to have arisen via an X-to-Y transposition event in primate evolution[1][3]. While associated with some rare reproductive disorders, it is not currently recognized as a therapeutic target, and no small-molecule or antibody drugs are known to interact with it[1][8][9]. Its biological roles and implications in human disease are not yet fully characterized.
