THBS2 antisense RNA 1 (THBS2-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA transcribed from the antisense strand in proximity to the THBS2 (thrombospondin 2) gene[4]. As an lncRNA, THBS2-AS1 does not encode a protein but is presumed to function in the regulation of gene expression, potentially influencing the transcription or stability of the THBS2 gene or other genetic loci. There is currently very limited published data about its biological role, disease relevance, or potential as a therapeutic target.
