THBS3 antisense RNA 1 (THBS3-AS1)

THBS3 antisense RNA 1 (THBS3-AS1) is a long noncoding RNA annotated in species including humans (e.g., NCBI Gene 105371450, Ensembl ENSG00000231064)[2]. It is transcribed antisense to the THBS3 gene, which encodes the protein thrombospondin 3, a member of the extracellular matrix glycoprotein family. However, THBS3-AS1 itself does not encode a protein, and no peer-reviewed studies define its function, biological processes, or disease associations to date. There is no evidence that THBS3-AS1 is a drug target, biomarker, or has defined interacting drugs or therapeutic mechanisms. Only the sense gene THBS3 has been implicated in cancer biology and tumor microenvironment studies, not THBS3-AS1[1][3][4].
