Thioredoxin (TXN) mRNA is the transcript responsible for the synthesis of thioredoxin-1, a ubiquitous redox-active protein essential for maintaining cellular thiol-disulfide balance [1]. By reducing oxidized proteins and scavenging reactive oxygen species, the TXN system protects cells from oxidative stress-induced damage and regulates various signaling pathways related to growth and survival [2].
