Pseudogenes are remnants of genes that have accumulated disabling mutations and no longer produce active proteins. In general, pseudogenes can, in rare cases, influence gene regulation at the RNA level, but there is no specific evidence that the THO complex 3 pseudogene has such a role. The functional THO complex plays important roles in mRNA processing and export, but this pseudogene does not contribute to those activities.
