Target intelligence / Profile preview
Thrombospondin type-1 domain-containing protein 8 (THSD8) is a protein encoded by the *THSD8* gene in humans. It is classified as a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19p13.13. The protein contains thrombospondin type-1 domains, which are generally involved in extracellular matrix interactions and cell–cell communication, but the specific molecular function and biological processes associated with THSD8 are currently unknown. Predictive data suggest it may be localized to the external side of the plasma membrane and the sperm head plasma membrane. There are no known drugs, disease associations, or functional data indicating a therapeutic target role for THSD8.
Not defined/None known. As no drugs target THSD8, mechanisms are not established.
