THUMPD3-AS1 can act as a molecular sponge (ceRNA), modulating cellular pathways like hypoxia and interacting with various molecular signals important in malignancy[6]. Although high expression correlates with poor prognosis in cancer, there is currently no evidence of approved or investigational drugs directly targeting THUMPD3-AS1 as a therapeutic intervention, and its main significance is as a biomarker and regulator of oncogenic pathways rather than as a classical drug target[3][6].
