TICAM2 antisense RNA 1 (TICAM2-AS1)

Target
TICAM2-AS1
Molecular classification
Other, Antisense long non-coding RNA
01

Overview

TICAM2 antisense RNA 1 (TICAM2-AS1) is a non-coding RNA molecule transcribed from the antisense strand of the TICAM2 gene[4]. Unlike its protein-coding counterpart TICAM2, which functions as an adaptor molecule in innate immune signaling pathways involving Toll-like receptors and type I interferon induction[1], there is limited publicly available functional information on TICAM2-AS1. In general, antisense long non-coding RNAs like TICAM2-AS1 can modulate the expression of their sense gene (TICAM2) and may be involved in regulatory processes relevant to immunity, disease, or development, but specific biological roles, disease associations, and molecular functions for this particular antisense RNA remain uncharacterized[6]. No known drugs, biomarkers, or significant disease associations for TICAM2-AS1 have been reported in the scientific literature, and it is not currently recognized as a direct therapeutic target[4].
