Target intelligence / Profile preview
Tissue remodeling refers to a complex biological process involving coordinated cellular activities regulated by multiple molecular signals that collectively reorganize tissues during development, adaptation, repair or disease progression. This process involves degradation of old ECM components, synthesis and deposition of new ECM proteins, and cellular activities including proliferation, migration, differentiation, apoptosis, and senescence. Key mediators include TGFβ, growth factors, cytokines, and matrix metalloproteinases. It plays roles in normal physiology and in pathological conditions like fibrosis.
