TLS11a aptamer is a synthetic single-stranded DNA molecule selected via SELEX for high-specificity binding to surface molecules expressed on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells. It is widely used in HCC diagnosis, imaging, and targeted therapy by serving as a ligand to deliver diagnostic probes or therapeutics to HCC cells. TLS11a has been incorporated into biosensors, fluorescent and nanoparticle-based imaging systems, and conjugated with immunotherapeutic modalities (e.g., paired with anti-CD3 antibodies to induce targeted T cell cytotoxicity against HCC). While it enables highly specific recognition and targeting of HCC cells, TLS11a itself is not a canonical protein, antigen, or receptor, and should not be described as a surface antigen. It represents a novel strategy in cancer targeting, with promising specificity and efficacy in preclinical validation.
Specifically binds HCC cell-surface antigens with high affinity. When linked to anti-CD3, activates T cells to kill HCC by cross-linking tumor and immune cells. Used in diagnostic imaging by fluorescence, biosensors, or nanoprobes.
