TMCC2 antisense RNA 1 (TMCC2-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA gene located on chromosome 1 (human genome), antisense to the TMCC2 coding sequence. Like other antisense lncRNAs, it is presumed to have a potential role in the regulation of gene expression, possibly involving RNA-RNA or RNA-protein interactions, or epigenetic modulation. However, as of now, there are no published studies directly elucidating the specific functional roles, associated pathways, or clinical relevance of TMCC2-AS1. The gene is referenced in genome annotation databases and general lncRNA reviews, but further investigation is warranted to establish its biological or therapeutic significance.
