Overview

TMEM132D antisense RNA 1 (TMEM132D-AS1) is a cytoplasmic long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene located on chromosome 12 (chr12:129109699-129113293, positive strand) with no protein-coding potential, classified as an antisense transcript to TMEM132D[3][5]. It is also known as LOC283352 and RP11-669N7.2, among other aliases[3][5]. TMEM132D-AS1 has been identified as significantly upregulated in osimertinib-resistant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), where it modulates resistance by binding to miR-766-5p and increasing the expression of ENTPD1, contributing to enhanced cell proliferation and decreased apoptosis[2]. It may serve as a prognostic biomarker and a potential therapeutic target in the management of acquired resistance to targeted therapies in NSCLC[2].
