As an lncRNA, TMEM246-AS1 does not encode a protein but may regulate gene expression, likely through mechanisms typical for antisense RNAs such as modulation of transcription, chromatin structure, or RNA stability[1][4]. There is currently very limited direct functional or mechanistic information specifically concerning TMEM246-AS1.
