Overview

TMX4 antisense RNA 1 (TMX4-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene, transcribed from the opposite strand of the TMX4 locus[5]. It does not encode a protein but may regulate gene expression through antisense mechanisms. There is currently no evidence that TMX4-AS1 is a validated therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, transporter, or similar entity. Its biological functions and roles in disease are not well described in the scientific literature. Care should be taken to distinguish TMX4-AS1 from the protein-coding TMX4 gene (Thioredoxin-related transmembrane protein 4), which is an endoplasmic reticulum reductase involved in protein folding[1][3]. Available public gene databases list basic annotation for TMX4-AS1, but no well-characterized molecular function, disease link, or drug interaction is established[5]. If you are seeking information on the protein-coding TMX4 gene or circular/linear non-coding transcripts of TMX4, consult relevant entries for those terms, as TMX4-AS1 is a separate antisense RNA species.
