TNFRSF10B antisense RNA 1 (TNFRSF10B-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA gene located antisense to the TNFRSF10B (death receptor 5/TRAIL receptor 2) locus. This lncRNA is transcribed from the opposite strand of the associated protein-coding gene and may function as a natural antisense transcript. Although its specific mechanism of action is not yet established, evidence suggests it can regulate necroptotic and inflammatory signaling pathways, independently of TNFRSF10B expression, and is associated with altered expression in certain cancers and age-related macular degeneration. Its main localization is cytoplasmic, and it likely exerts regulatory post-transcriptional effects on gene expression. Experimental manipulation of TNFRSF10B-AS1 influences cell viability, particularly under stress conditions, but the exact biological significance and mechanism require further investigation.
