TNR intronic transcript 1 (TNR-IT1)

Target
TNR-IT1
Molecular classification
Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA), Intronic transcript, Noncoding RNA
01

Overview

TNR intronic transcript 1 (TNR-IT1) is a long non-coding RNA gene transcribed from the intronic region of the TNR (Tenascin R) gene. Like other intronic lncRNAs, TNR-IT1 is believed to play potential roles in gene regulation, such as modulating the stability of protein-coding transcripts, splicing, or influencing local chromatin architecture. No protein-coding function, known interacting drugs, or prominent disease associations have been reported for TNR-IT1. Its biological and clinical significance, if any, remains largely uncharacterized.
