Target intelligence / Profile preview
Toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2) is a pattern recognition receptor (PRR) that plays a crucial role in the innate and adaptive immune responses. It recognizes various microbial components and endogenous molecules, triggering signaling pathways that lead to the production of cytokines and other immune mediators. TLR2 forms heterodimers with TLR1 or TLR6 to recognize different ligands. Dysregulation of TLR2 is implicated in infectious diseases, autoimmune disorders, and cancer, making it a potential therapeutic target.
Agonists/antagonists modulate TLR2 signaling to influence innate and adaptive immunity.
