A Toll-like receptor (TLR) pathway modulator refers to any molecule or agent that can influence the activity of the TLR signaling pathways. TLRs are a family of pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) that play a central role in innate immunity by recognizing pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) and damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs), thereby initiating immune responses. Modulation of the TLR pathway is being explored therapeutically, with agonists used as vaccine adjuvants or cancer immunotherapies, and antagonists/inhibitors investigated for treating autoimmune diseases or sepsis.
