TOMM22 divergent transcript (TOMM22-DT, also known as lnc408) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene not translated into protein. It is functionally implicated in the regulation of gene expression through interactions with macromolecules such as DNA, proteins, and other RNAs. TOMM22-DT (lnc408) has been identified as an inducer of epithelial-mesenchymal transformation and promotes breast cancer cell invasion and metastasis, likely by regulating cytoskeletal stability[1][3][7].
