Overview

Toxin B (TcdB) is a major exotoxin produced by Clostridioides difficile and a primary virulence factor in C. difficile infection (CDI). It functions as a glucosyltransferase, inactivating Rho family GTPases, leading to cytoskeletal disruption, epithelial cell damage, inflammation, and ultimately contributing to the pathology of CDI. It is a validated therapeutic target.
