TP73 antisense RNA 2 (TP73-AS2) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene transcribed from the antisense strand of the TP73 locus at chromosome 1p36.32 in humans[2]. TP73-AS2 belongs to a family of antisense lncRNAs that regulate the expression or activity of their sense gene partners, especially TP73, a member of the tumor suppressor p53 gene family. Although less characterized compared to the closely related TP73-AS1, TP73-AS2 is believed to exert regulatory effects on gene expression, possibly influencing cellular processes such as proliferation, apoptosis, and response to chemotherapy—mainly in the context of tumor biology[2].
