Target intelligence / Profile preview
TPT1 pseudogene 14 (TPT1P14) is a processed pseudogene of the tumor protein, translationally-controlled 1 (TPT1) gene. As a pseudogene, TPT1P14 is a non-functional segment of DNA resembling the parent TPT1 gene but does not encode an active protein or participate in cellular pathways. Pseudogenes arise via reverse-transcription and integration of parental gene mRNA and are generally considered non-coding elements in the genome. There is no evidence that TPT1 pseudogene 14 acts as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or is otherwise considered a classic therapeutic target in pharmacology or drug development.
