TraB domain containing 2B (TRABD2B) is a membrane-associated metalloprotease that binds Wnt proteins and negatively regulates the Wnt signaling pathway by cleaving the N-terminal residues of a subset of Wnt proteins, such as WNT3A and WNT5, leading to their inactivation through oxidation and oligomerization. Its biological role includes modulation of cell signaling important in development and tissue homeostasis. TRABD2B is expressed in several tissues and its dysfunction is associated with certain developmental disorders, but there is no evidence it is a current therapeutic target or interacts with approved drugs[3][2][1][7].
