Overview

Trafficking protein particle complex subunit 2B (TRAPPC2B) is a component of the TRAPP (trafficking protein particle) complex, which is involved in vesicular transport, particularly from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi apparatus[1][3][5][9]. The protein binds to transcriptional corepressors and may inhibit cell death mediated by the enzyme ENO1[3][5][6][9]. In humans, the TRAPPC2B gene has been described as a transcribed retropseudogene, raising uncertainty as to whether it produces a functional protein product or not[2]. TRAPPC2B is not recognized as a therapeutic target (such as a receptor, enzyme, or transporter) in current literature[3][7].
