Trafficking protein particle complex subunit 2L (TRAPPC2L) is a highly conserved protein-coding gene that encodes a component of the TRAPP vesicle tethering complex[1][2][5]. The protein is structurally related to TRAPPC2, and both TRAPPC2L and TRAPPC2 are involved in vesicle-mediated transport, particularly from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi apparatus. Knockdown of TRAPPC2L disrupts Golgi integrity, indicating its importance in membrane trafficking and Golgi dynamics[2][5]. TRAPPC2L is not classified as a classical therapeutic target such as a receptor, enzyme, or transporter. Mutations or disruptions to the gene have been associated with certain syndromic neurodevelopmental disorders but are not implicated as a direct cause of common diseases or used as a biomarker or therapeutic target in current clinical practice[1][2].
