Trafficking protein particle complex subunit 3 (TRAPPC3) is a protein encoded by the TRAPPC3 gene in humans. It is a component of the trafficking protein particle (TRAPP) complex, which is involved in the tethering of transport vesicles to the cis-Golgi membrane and regulates transport from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi apparatus. TRAPPC3 functions primarily as part of a multi-subunit complex essential for vesicular transport within the secretory pathway. It is not considered a typical therapeutic target (such as an enzyme, receptor, or transporter) but plays a critical role in intracellular protein trafficking. Mutations or dysfunction in TRAPPC3 have been associated with rare genetic diseases, particularly ciliopathies.
