Overview

Trafficking protein particle complex subunit 3-like protein (TRAPPC3L) is a small protein in humans encoded by the TRAPPC3L gene. It is a component of the TRAPP (Transport protein particle) multisubunit tethering complex, which is critical for vesicle trafficking, particularly in the transport from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi apparatus. TRAPPC3L belongs to the BET3 subfamily within the TRAPP small subunits family and is closely related to TRAPPC3. While the TRAPP complex as a whole is essential for normal cell vesicle trafficking, the human TRAPPC3L subunit's individual role is less well characterized; it may have a partially redundant or specialized function within specific tissues or under specific conditions. There is limited evidence directly associating TRAPPC3L with specific human diseases or drug targets. It is not currently considered a classical therapeutic target or biomarker, nor are any drugs known to interact directly with it[2][3].
