Target intelligence / Profile preview
The transaldolase 1 pseudogene is a non-functional DNA sequence on human chromosome 1 with significant similarity to the transaldolase 1 (TALDO1) gene, but it does not encode a functional enzyme. The canonical active gene, TALDO1, plays a critical role in the non-oxidative phase of the pentose phosphate pathway, but the pseudogene itself does not contribute to metabolic activity and is not targeted in therapy or research as a receptor, enzyme, or other functional biomolecule[2][3][6].
