Overview

Transcription elongation factor A like 3 (TCEAL3) is a nuclear phosphoprotein from the TCEAL (transcription elongation factor A (SII)-like) gene family[1][3][5]. This protein contains a TFA domain and may modulate gene transcription in a promoter-dependent manner. TCEAL3, like other family members, is thought to fine-tune the expression of target genes, possibly intersecting with canonical signaling pathways and cellular regulatory networks. It is encoded on the X chromosome, and alternative splicing leads to multiple transcript variants encoding a single protein isoform. TCEAL3 has been associated with certain diseases, such as Pelizaeus-Merzbacher Disease and severe congenital neutropenia 7, but definitive functional roles in disease are not established. There is no evidence that TCEAL3 is a therapeutic receptor, enzyme, transporter, or direct drug target[1][3][5].
