Transcription elongation factor A1 pseudogene 1 (TCEA1P1) is a pseudogene related to the functional gene TCEA1, which encodes the protein "transcription elongation factor A1." While the functional TCEA1 protein plays a defined regulatory role in transcriptional elongation by stimulating RNA polymerase II and is implicated in cell proliferation and differentiation, the pseudogene TCEA1P1 does not encode a functional protein and is not known to have a direct biological role. There is no evidence suggesting TCEA1P1 is a therapeutic target or is implicated in disease processes.
