Overview

Transcription factor BTF3 homolog 4 (*BTF3L4*) is a protein coding gene in humans (UniProtKB Q96K17) that encodes a member of the NAC-beta family. BTF3L4 acts as a putative transcription factor involved in gene regulation, particularly via modulating transcriptional processes. It may have functional overlap or paralogous relationships with BTF3. Recent studies suggest a possible role in cancer, as it can enhance malignant phenotypes and influence the immune microenvironment in glioma, but direct targeting with drugs has not been reported[2][5][8][10]. BTF3L4 is broadly expressed with no specific tissue restriction and has standard features of transcription factor proteins such as DNA binding domains.\n\nIf more specific mechanistic or pharmacological data become available in future publications or clinical datasets, the above characterizations may need to be updated.
