Overview

Transcription factor Dp-1 (TFDP1) is a member of the DP family of transcription factors that heterodimerize with E2F proteins, enhancing their DNA-binding activity and regulating the transcription of genes involved in cell cycle progression, especially the G1 to S phase transition[1][2][3][5][6][7]. The E2F1:DP1 complex is implicated in regulating cell proliferation and apoptosis, and TFDP1 acts as a key DNA-binding partner in this heterodimer[1][2][6]. It interacts with E2F family members and other proteins such as p53 and is associated with several disease pathways, particularly those involving aberrant cell cycle regulation, such as cancer and inflammatory diseases[1][2]. TFDP1 does not have established drug interactions, mechanisms of action, clinical biomarkers, or major safety concerns as a therapeutic target as of the current literature[1][2][6].
